Up Close and Personal Broadcasting With 3D TV

Posted by admin on August 7, 2010 in Entertainment World, Useful Tips

Time will tell if 3D is the future of programming. Far too many HDTVs are not ready to receive 3D signals. Most consumers will have to replace or upgrade their current set-ups which may function perfectly otherwise. 3D will bring a lot of excitement over the next year, but it seems as though it will also bring some pretty hefty expenses for those who chose to adopt it.

Slow roll out of the technology is to be expected at first. Analysts currently expect that only about 5 million households will adopt the technology within the next 24-36 months. The Dish Network hopes that another 20 million homes will adopt the technology sometime thereafter. Some envision that the mass rollout of the 3D technology will as many as 10 years.

The Consumer Electronics Association has estimated that 2.2 million 3DTVs will be sold in 2010, with 25% of all TVs sold in 2013 being 3DTVs. As a result, programming will most likely also be slowly rolled out. Manufacturers, including Sony, debuted a number of new 3DTV lines this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

While pricing was not immediately available for some models, it appears as though 3DTV technology will not increase prices too much. Unfortunately, it does not appear as though current sets will be able to be upgraded to include 3DTV technology.

Wedding Player: Top Five Tips for Hiring a Band

Posted by admin on January 31, 2010 in Entertainment World, Finding Partners Online, Social Issues

Setting Up for live wedding music is just one of about a hundredjobs facing couples and wedding planners. Between flowers, photographers, venues, dresses, parties, rings, video, and more, even a moderate and quiet wedding makes for a large amount of planning. It can be a nerve-wracking time because if even one of these areas falls through the cracks, your big day can end up being a tremendous disappointment.

Here are five tips to hiring live wedding bands for your wedding and reception:

1. you rent a band with a tested track record of professionalism. Does the manager return your phone calls promptly? Does the dance band have a web site? Business cards? Other promotional materials? Or do you get the sense you’re speaking to a guy rehearsing in his garage with his buddies? The way the band presents itself as you begin talking with them is a honest indicator of how they’ll turn up (or not!) on your special day.

2. Punctuality is key. When you set an appointment to meet personally or on the telephone, it’s like a mini-contract. If the band director is tardy to meet with you, it’s a warning sign that they don’t take their agreements earnestly. If they can’t come through on time in the preparation stage, what other agreements will they break with you on your wedding day? This extends on to you, also - being punctual is just one way you can live a life that shows that you respect your commitments.

3. Make sure the band is easy-going rather than being a bunch of divas. By now you’ve likely heard a million Bridezilla jokes, even if you’re not demanding or unreasonable. Imagine engaging the equal in flakiness for your wedding dance band. The last thing you want on your wedding day is to have to wait on your musicians hand and foot, bringing them food and beverage, having the thermostat set for them, or catering to other exacting needs. The greatest band for you is one that can take care of itself, one that’s easy to get along with, and one that does all it can to make sure your day is sweet and fun for you.

4. Charter a wedding band that’s fun. Getting married is one of the greatest choices you’ll ever make. It’s important business. The music on your wedding day should be glorious and fun. You don’t want to see your guests yawning, dazed, and wishing the event was finished. You want them up, dancing, singing, and grinning. If you pick out a live wedding music band well, your selection will do a great deal to make your wedding day unforgettable in a good way. This is the big day you’ve been ready for, and music is such a critical part of it. Be sure you book a band that makes the day flawless - pleasant for you and your guests.

Thai Lanterns a Smash at Yee Peng

Posted by admin on November 30, 2009 in Entertainment World, Religion

Asia is forever heavy with jubilations, South East Asia looks to have the pick of the crowd. As the name evokes Thai Lanterns are from Thailand and are today contacting a far bigger audience as they increase popularity at UK events. One Such Festival by the name of Yee Peng follows the Buddhist Calendar and translates to the twelfth lunar month. November is when this comes about if your looking on a Western calendar. Loy Krathong is what you will pick up it referred to if you happen to be in some other part of Thailand. The Thai people follow this religious festival and the traditions it implies. Liberating the ‘Khom Loy’ or ‘Thai Lanterns’ is my most treasured part of the event. It is truly charming to watch the sky alight with these shining orbs. Thai people trust that the taking off lantern is accompanied by any woes. The light is said to steer people to a bright and fulfilled living. This fun event entices in even westerners although im not sure if they take it as gravely or just enjoy partaking in the festivities. The Thai Lanterns are biodegradable and are manufactured from Rice Paper and Bamboo for structure. Flight time is about 12 min and the Lanterns are well-known to reach upward of 900 ft!Popularity has been on the rise (excuse the pun) and has even found the Royal Thai Air Force alter their air activity and make cautionary to the airport to be cautious of prospective perils should a lantern get stuck in a aeroplane turbine.
